Cambodia - exploring further afield (Day 3)

Our final day we headed further afield towards the 'Lady temple' of Bantai Srei. But on route we made a stop at the Cambodian Landmine museum.

Cambodia - Tomb Raider style adventures (Day 2 - shorter route)

Having seen the spectacle of sunset, we wanted to tick off sunrise as well, so up we rose, leaving at 5am to get to Angkor Wat to see the sun wake up. We weren't the only ones as the crowds over the small lake on the left to get 'THE' shots were there in their masses! We sharpened our elbows up and got a spot near the front with the reflection on the water.

After some raisin toast and jam for breakfast we were up and out the door to get to the ticket office for our three day Ankor pass ($40).

Cambodia - Three days in Ankor

Having been dropped near the centre of Siem Reap by our tuk tuk driver Sky, we were met by our Air B n B host Ankor Adventures who took us to our apartment, located on the outskirts of Siem Reap (just a $2 tuk tuk ride away from town). We settled in with a cuppa, got the washing on (the simple things in life!) and went for a walk to find the local Bakery - our go to for breakfast and lunch everyday whilst we stayed here.

Cambodia - the boat from Battambang to Siem Reap

We had read much online about the famous boat from Battambang to Siem Reap and had heard that in the wet season it would take only 4-5 hours, but in the dry season it could take up to 9-10 hours with the boat running aground along the way.
