Australia - Great Ocean Road

We waved goodbye to our Stu and Megan in Greensborough and headed off to drive along the Great Ocean Road which is a short drive to the south west and runs for 243km between Torquay and Warrnambool.

Our wheels

This stretch of surfing paradise was home to lots of wildlife, beaches, winding roads and rocky features. We drove from Melbourne to Warramnbol in a day stopping on route to check out the sights...

Kangaroos happily avoiding golf balls on the Anglsea Golf Course.

Its a roo!
Docile Koalas and friendly parrots at the Kennett River.

A Koala
Picturesque waterfalls including the Hopetoun Falls.

Waterfalls
Beach towns and surf central of Bells Beach where Rip Curl Pro competition is held.

The famous Twelve Apostles (or the eight apostles left!)

And...London Bridge!

London Bridge...
After a comfortable nights stay in an Air BnB near Warrnambool we headed North towards the Grampians, a lusciously green mountain range.

The drive although long, was beautiful as the mountains came into view. We were also lucky to see a Kangaroo as well as an Echnia (a snouted hedgehog like animal) crossing over the road.

With a stop for lunch at the Reed Lookout, with beautiful views over the valleys below we then had to head on back to Melbourne, before out flight to the red centre.

One of many lookouts
