After 12 days on the road we headed back to Christchurch with a second warm welcome from Chris and Helen.
We gave our camper-car a spring clean and clothes a wash and enjoyed good company, great food and a real treat...a bed!
It felt like we'd reappeared into civilisation and connected to the wider world having had a chance to Skype a few friends and family.
Our rest and relaxation continued at our next destination - Hanmer Springs, where with glorious sunshine we soaked for 4 hours in the mineral rich hot spring pools!
Although short and sweet these few days gave us the time to catch up with ourselves, and a well needed chance to plan our final week in the South Island and the next phase of our New Zealand road trip - up to the North!
