We picked up our new home for the next 30 days on Monday.
Having looked at all the options available we managed to get a deal on a Toyota people carrier which so far (2 days in) is really starting to feel like home!
If you want to save a few bucks - we've been completely sold on our homemade decked out camper-car!

Top tips for turning your car into a camper-car:
- Keep the seats in sections during the day for easy organised storage sections...very helpful so you don't lose things over a few days!
- Have one of these (recommend the middle set of seats) with bedding ready for quick and easy seat drop down and bed creation when rocking up to a campsite in the dark!
- Most important...making it comfortable for sleeping by purchasing sun lounger cushions to lie on and subtly packing up cushions and blankets courtesy of Quantas!
- Pick up some fabric off-cuts for $4 from a second hand (opp shop) and with a pair of scissors, some string and a lot of patience you'll have some handmade curtains!
- Boxes and a coolbag for food and cooking utensils make dinner and breakfast cooking nice and effortless! Plus a portable stove and plenty of loo roll for those more scenic and rural campsites so you're not caught short!
- And with the added benefit of a 'moonroof' you'll feel you're sleeping under the stars (but in the warm!)
What more could you want!? (other than a hot shower connected to the boot!)
